Music should be the voice that speaks for a generation. It should put a spotlight on the rage, fear and dissent of the society that breeds it. Not since the turbulent 60s has there been a time of political unrest as divisive and polarizing as right now. From Bob Dylan to the Dead Kennedys to Public Enemy, music has given the disenfranchised a voice to call out injustice and to express discontent about society. It is a weapon of anger, wielded by artists, that demands a reaction. The system is broken. The options are limited. The political climate has never been more ready for musicians to speak out.
